Worldline, a leader in the pan-European payments' industry, approached us with a unique opportunity. Their vision was an advanced online marketplace designed to simplify and enhance the transactional experience for merchants and consumers around the world.
Challenge
The core challenge involved two main objectives: developing a technology-driven, user-centric platform showcasing agility and efficiency, and smoothly transitioning existing customers to this new system. This process was especially complex due to the constraints of the outdated legacy system, requiring cautious navigation to maintain transactional integrity within its obsolete and intricate architecture.
Solution
Our response to the challenge involved the selection of Django as our web application framework, augmented with Django Ninja for robust system architecture. This combination excelled at managing complex functionalities and enabled the construction of efficient APIs using Python, leading to a highly responsive system. To prioritize user accessibility, we developed native mobile applications for both iOS and Android, ensuring a consistent and seamless experience across different devices.
Deployment was orchestrated through Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), which guaranteed high availability. The sophisticated features of AKS, such as automatic patching and dynamic scaling, helped to minimize downtime and boost productivity, thereby improving user engagement with the platform.
Additionally, our use of IaC tools like Terraform complements our strategy by enabling streamlined provisioning in diverse cloud environments. This reduces vendor dependency and enhances the overall resilience of our solutions, key in banking and fintech sectors.
